Tailored Support for You and Your Pets

Changes are afoot to better serve you and your 4-legged friend!

Welcome, Reader!

This is both a welcome letter for new clients and an update for current and long-standing clients.

First of all, I would like to thank you for entrusting me with the care of your most precious animal friends. I do not take your trust lightly, and I will always treat your animals as I treat my own. I never recommend anything to my patients that I would not use for either myself or my human and animal family members.

In order to continue to offer my services with the level of personalization and individual care that I prefer, I am restructuring my practice to meet the demands of the current state of veterinary medicine and the types of cases that both require or will benefit from my assistance.

Whether I am coming to see you and your animals at your home, consulting with you via telehealth, or you have a brand new healthy puppy or kitten, there will always be questions to ask as conditions change and issues arise.

Due to the nature of the majority of cases I see these days, ongoing coaching assistance and recommendations are required, often for months, sometimes for years, or, for the lucky ones, just a few weeks. I am also seeing a rise in the need for post-emergency consulting to review diagnostic test results, treatment plans, and medications.

For example, a young dog with ongoing intestinal problems such as pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and dysbiosis may take upwards of 1 to 2 years to rebuild its intestinal microbiome and return to a balanced, healthy state. These cases often require weekly check-ins and adjustments to diet, supplements, and other therapies.

As most of you know, the breadth of knowledge and clinical experience I bring to my cases is fairly unusual in the world of veterinary medicine. I have studied, practiced, and taught many different treatment modalities. I also rely upon my medical intuition and animal communication skills to help me determine the best course of treatment for the animal presenting in front of me.

I am going to share a secret with you. When you ask me a question regarding your animal, I automatically tune in, using my empathic intuition, to help provide the most appropriate answer for your animal and your situation. This applies to the most mundane concerns as well as life-and-death decisions. And it requires an energy expenditure from me that needs to be reciprocated in some form.

I very much enjoy doing this type of work and witnessing the results that arise from it. But to do what is right for you and your animals and to support my own self-care needs financially, emotionally, and physically, I need to adjust my fee structure and scheduling.

I am moving to a concierge-type plan based on some of the new telehealth and triage practice models that support the well-being of the client, patient, and doctor.

I love your questions, and this will allow me to have the time to answer them and help you and your pet!

I am instituting a practice membership plan, which gives you preferential access to my services. This access includes priority scheduling for housecall appointments and telehealth consults, access to text/chat messaging during business hours, and access to different tiers of treatment packages.

All of my services will continue to be offered on an as-needed, à la carte basis, but at a higher rate to encourage you to choose a longer-term commitment to my practice and our relationship.
